Recorded: South Sound, Norton – stereo cassette recorder, 2 remote microphones (binaural)
I had often recorded ambient tapes, so many that they have developed into a mini-library of their own. It involved placing the two mics in strategic places (often hanging out of upstairs windows) in order to capture ambient sounds such as passing pedestrians, cars, dogs barking, children playing, and any other random sounds that happen to occur. These might include the weather, wind and rain and sometimes thunder, as well as noises coming from inside the house, either inadvertent or deliberate.
Some were incorporated into songs over the years, and as recently as 2015 I have gone back to this archive of soundscapes and mixed them into new compositions.
