Track 0329: WAITING FOR THE MAN (Reed) 4:51 (BASCZAX) (13th July 1979)
Musicians: John Hodgson – Yamaha SY1 synthesizer, Jen synthesizer, backing vocals, Alan Savage – guitar, lead vocals, Mick Todd – bass guitar, Jeff Fogarty – saxophone, Alan Cornforth – drums
Recorded: Teessider Pub, Stockton (live performance) stereo cassette recorder + 12 channel Canary mixer
We attempt to play “Commands” and the Jen synth is just not up to the task, so we abandon it. Sav then thanks those in the audience that travelled down to The Nashville in London to see us make our debut in the capitol, which sadly was not recorded.
He then launches into this perennial Lou Reed three chord trick (which we had never played before, ever) and we do a decent job.
