Recorded: Impulse Recording Studios, Wallsend (16 track) Produced by Blitzkrieg Bop & Larry Ottaway.
After the drama and disappointment of the Slaughter tour had died down we decided that a visit to the studio would be a good move. Lightning had not offered the band a third single, and the release of “UFO” had taken so long the band had all but disowned it.
We opted for Impulse in Wallsend, and we were pleased with the results. It could be argued it's the best recording we ever made, it certainly has “balls”, unlike the Lightning sides.
We chose to record “West Side Story” and another new song, “Radio”, about the state of radio broadcasting in the UK.
