Track 0228: GAS BORED (Hodgson/Hylton) 3:00 (BLITZKRIEG BOP) (4th February 1978)
Musicians: John Hodgson -lead vocals, synthesizer, Ray Radford – guitar, Mick Hylton – bass guitar, Alan Cornforth – drums
Recorded: Tropicana, Whitby (live performance) stereo cassette recorder, 2 x remote microphones
The band had a busy start to 1978 with six gigs in January, but it wasn't until our second visit to The Tropicana in early February before we bothered to record proceedings.
The quality wasn't that great, but I must include “Gas Bored” as this is the only performance of any kind in the archive. It was mainly written by Mick, as he worked for the Gas Board, and it demonstrated his unhappiness with his lot.
None of the band really like the song and it was dropped from the set quite quickly.
