I had long been an admirer of Van Morrison after hearing a track called “TB Sheets” in Woolworths, Stockton in about 1972, but the main reason we covered this classic song was because Eddie & The Hot Rods had done an incendiary version on their “Live At The Marquee” EP. We started playing it at our Speedway residency, where the chorus was altered to “Tigers” as Dimmer was a fan of the local speedway team the Teesside Tigers, now that Dimmer had left we reverted to the more conventional version.
