Track 0158: 9 TILL 5 (Hodgson) 3:02 (BLITZKRIEG BOP) (20th May 1977)
Musicians: John Hodgson – lead vocals, Dimmer Blackwell – fuzz guitar, Ann Hodgson – guitar, Mick Hylton – bass guitar, Alan Cornforth – drums
Recorded: The Barn, Norton (room 2) 2 x reel-to-reel tape recorders (7 ½ ips) + Heathkit mixer (produced by Alan Cornforth)
Using the same method as Chubb had done recording epic rock songs we set about taping short snappy punk songs and met with mixed results. This is an original song, first performed live at The Speedway on the 15th May. It's a rant about the rejection of the “day-job” (despite my day-job at a steel stockholders, answering the phone) called “9 Till 5”. This was pencilled in for the a-side of the single.
