Track 0151: VIRGINIA PLAIN (Ferry) 2:49 (ADAMANTA CHUBB) (8th May 1977)
Musicians: John Hodgson – lead vocals, electric organ, synthesizer, Dimmer Blackwell – guitar, backing vocals, Mick Hylton – bass guitar, Alan Cornforth – drums
Recorded: The Speedway Hotel, Middlesbrough (live performance) reel-to-reel tape recorder + Heathkit mixer
On the 7th May 1977 the band took the stage for the first time as Blitzkrieg Bop at The Ormesby Youth Club, Middlesbrough. They still came on as Adamanta Chubb for a first half of rock songs without Ann, who came on for “Hanging Around” and a full 2nd set of punk.
That gig wasn't recorded, but the following night at The Speedway was.
Taken from the first half, this is a decent run through the Roxy Music classic.
