Track 0114: PLAY THAT FUNKY MUSIC (Parissi) (3:05) (ERECTION) (24th November 1976)
Musicians: John Hodgson – synthesizer, Eddie Hall – bass guitar, backing vocals, Ray Radford – guitar, Jed Duffy – drums, backing vocals, Yusef Nimar – cowbell, Dave Hughes – lead vocals
Recorded: Tiffany's Night Club, Middlesbrough (upstairs rehearsal space) mono cassette recorder
A massive smash for Wild Cherry in 1976, this was a guaranteed floor-filler and a no brainer for us to do live. I enjoyed playing it as it had a meaty funky synth line throughout.
You can hear the band do a yelp of delight when they finish the song.
