Track 0100: PALOOKA (Hodgson/Blackwell/Cornforth) 10:09 (ADAMANTA CHUBB) (21st April 1976)
Musicians: John Hodgson – synthesizer, Dimmer Blackwell – guitar, Alan Cornforth – drums
Recorded: The Barn, Norton (room 1) stereo reel-to-reel tape recorder (7 ½ ips)
Chubb did not “jam” too often, not compared to one of my later bands, Makaton Chat, who seemed to do little else, so “Palooka”, although a jam, became a staple part of the bands set, and was actually performed live on several occasions (see later in the set).
Based on several riffs and melodies, it was always slightly different each time we played it, and the version here is, I think, the definitive one.
