Track 0078: FEEL LIKE MAKING LOVE (Ralphs/Rodgers) 4:59 (ADAMANTA CHUBB) (c.December 1975)
Musicians: John Hodgson – electric organ, backing vocals, Jackie Bradley – lead vocals, Dimmer Blackwell – guitar, backing vocals, Alan Cornforth – drums, backing vocals
Recorded: The Barn, Norton (room 1) stereo reel-to-reel tape recorder (7 ½ ips)
In the three months to Christmas 1975 the band, when not rehearsing as a three piece, were auditioning a succession of bass players and vocalists after placing ads in the local paper.
Most lasted one practise, but Jackie Bradley lasted at least two weeks over Christmas. If you hadn't noticed already, Jackie was a girl, and this changed everything as far as the atmosphere in the barn was concerned. Since the start it had been a male only room, and it was noticeable that hair was washed and swearing was kept to a minimum as the band reacted to having a lady in their midst.
Just after Christmas it was decided, after much deliberation, that she was not going to work, and it was left up to me (after a coin toss) to break the bad news.
This cover of a Bad Company song is just about the only thing that has survived, so it must be included here.
